To me, this is an image of hope. There's the perspective and as you follow it past the burnt and damaged tree there's green regrowth among the vertical remains. To me, it's symbolic of the cyclical nature of a bushfire.
The photo was taken on a hill behind Marysville following the Black Saturday buchfires last year that all but wiped out the town. By the time the town was open to the public again, renewal has started.
