He's still alive, but only after surgery following a hit and run. The vet explained that his wounds were consistant with being hit by a vehicle and, judging by the damage on his claws, he'd dug his toes into the asphalt - ie, he was there first and thought the car should avoid him. Apparently quite common.
I ignored the feeling I got in the first place because I couldn't bear what you were inferring...should have faced it...I'm glad he's ok, I can't stand to see animals suffer
