  1. Perhaps you can enlighten me, as I'm a bit confused. Is this a form of Haiku I'm unaware of? The only Haiku I'm familiar with is the 5/7/5.

  2. Modern English langauge haiku has long ago dispensed with the three line 5/7/5 syllable structure, although many pedant traditionalists stick to this format.

    I have a copy of The Haiku Anthology: Haiku and Senryu in English ed. by Cor Van Den Heuval beside me. It's over 300 pages and very little in there adheres to the old 5/7/5 rule.

    Some have sort new names for this free-form haiku; Jack Keroac called his "American pops". There are even one line haiku, although some prefer to call such modern varieties "haiku-like".
